        I have always felt a severe lack of information about the disease from the treating doctor to patient. Lack of time in a busy OPD is one of the main reasons behind this! So the patient receives only the most essential instructions from the treating doctor. The patient's mind, who is anxious to know the diagnosis and prognosis, forgets 50% of the discussion before leaving the consulting room. These doctors can't compile and distribute detailed patient education material for each disease they treat., given their hectic schedule due to lack of workforce, especially in developing countries.

      A few publishing houses in developed countries have well compiled and detailed patient education material; unfortunately, these are locked with big subscription plans. With the advent of the internet and social media, it has become more accessible for unqualified professionals to create and disseminate information that is not supported by scientific facts for their gain. These so-called protips from such quacks can be misleading and confusing to the patient, leading to a  delay in seeking healthcare attention and progression of the disease.

      So I created this website to share patient education material on the internet, which is openly accessible to everyone, especially patients, general physicians, and resident dermatologists. This provides an opportunity for the information to reach people worldwide irrespective of race and economic status. This website and the social media platforms are the first steps towards that.
