The patient must be residing in India at the time of consultation. (This service is currently available only for patients who are fluent in English or Tamil).
Consultation must be a Non-Emergency consult. Online consultation is not a substitute for a physical and clinical examination by a doctor.
The Patient agrees to verify his/her identity (Name, Age, Sex, email ID, mobile number). In the case of a minor, teleconsultation would be allowed only if the minor is consulting with an adult whose identity will be verified.
The Patient must possess aย mobile computer or tablet device, a high-speed internet connection, and other necessary technology for making video and audio calls and sending texts. Sharing photos of private areas is prohibited.
There may be technological problems/challenges during consultation e.g. poor quality of voice, deviation in the color of images, or lack of understanding on both sides because both doctor and patient are not face to face.
The doctor will use his professional discretion to gather the type and extent of patient information (History/examination findings/investigation reports/records etc).
Telephonic consultation will be based on the information furnished by me as a patient/ attendant/ Relative. If any history is not revealed at that time of consultation, the diagnosis made and treatment given by the doctor may vary accordingly.ย
If the doctor feels that the information received is inadequate, he can request additional information (eg: Radiological tests or lab tests) from the patient which may be shared in real-time or shared later as per the nature of the information.
Texts, images, and conversations will be stored as medical records which will be kept confidential.
Telemedicine has its own set of limitations for adequate examination. If a physical examination is a piece of critical information for consultation, the teleconsultation can be considered as paused and the patient is entitled to an in-person consult on an appointment basis in his clinic for physical examination. If the above is not possible, then the patient might have to see another registered practitioner /Health Worker.
The doctor will prescribe medicines via telemedicine only when he has gathered adequate information and relevant information about the patient's medical condition.ย
Teleconsultation service can be availed for 25 mins for a fee of Rs 550. For consultations lasting beyond 25 minutes, the patient/ attendant/relative agrees to pay an additional Rs 100 for every 10 minutes.
The prescription will be sent to the patient's registered mail id or Whatsapp after complete payment is made by the patient.
Certain drugs like Narcotic drugs, Drugs with potential for abuse, drugs with immunosuppressant potential, etc will not be dispensed over telemedicine.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
